Now that longer terms and lower down payments are becoming the rule rather than the exception for auto financing, and this results in holding onto vehicles for a longer period of time, I thought you might like to know about some of the changes to the credit union’s Mechanical Repair Coverage (vehicle warranty). NE PA Community Federal Credit Union can now offer protection for all vehicles 10 years old or newer with less than 100,000 miles on the vehicle regardless of whether your vehicle has any remaining coverage from the manufacturer. Some restrictions do apply.
You have a choice of covered components ranging from the Silver Policy, which covers engine, drive train and transmission up to the Platinum Policy, which rivals the original manufacturer’s warranty coverage. You may also select the length of term you would like to be covered. We can finance the policy when you buy the vehicle or refinance your current auto loan by including the cost of the warranty in your loan. If your vehicle is owned outright, we may be able to offer alternative financing options, such as a Signature Loan.
As with all mechanical repair warranties, you should document all routine maintenance and repairs performed on your vehicle. The law does not require dealers to retain service records for ten years, so the new terms and mileage qualifications put additional responsibility on the vehicle owner. The last thing you would want to be told at the time of any warranty claim is that you were being denied due to lack of maintenance. The plan does not cover pre-existing conditions, commercial vehicles, salvaged or rebuilt vehicles or trucks over one ton.
Having to pay out of pocket for mechanical repairs along with skyrocketing gas prices could be too much for some members. In today’s economy, any unplanned expense for an automotive breakdown could cause financial stress. Grand Opening Anniversary Celebration
We’re excited to announce that our new building has been serving members for a full year now. To honor the one-year anniversary of our Main Office in Stroudsburg, we’ll be holding a weeklong celebration. Plan to join us October 27-31 for some great games, giveaways, and other fun promotions! Understanding Your Credit Score And Managing Credit

Budgeting For Young Adults Seminar
On August 5, 2008 the credit union provided budget skill training for young adults and their parents. Ryan Rispoli won a gift basket worth $100.

Be A Salvation Army Angel
Share the “Spirit of the Holiday” by being an “Angel” to a deserving child! To be an “Angel,” stop by the credit union office after November 17, 2008 and pick a card of a child from our Christmas angel tree. The card will describe the age, sex, and first name of the child. Shop for the gift and then bring the unwrapped gift to the credit union office by December 12, 2008. Then picture the happiness of this child in your mind as you celebrate the Holiday Season.
Holiday Club Account Update
Your 2008 Holiday Club Account funds will be transferred to your Share Draft Account (or your primary Share Account if you do not have a Share Draft Account) on November 1, 2008. We will begin receiving deposits on November 2, 2008 for next year’s Holiday Club Accounts. Don’t have an account? Identity Theft has become more of a threat due to some very shrewd thieves and the availability of personal information on the Internet. However, there are ways you can help protect yourself, while still enjoying the benefits of the Internet. Here are a few tips:
